Man Stabbed in Swindon Town Centre – Police Hunt Suspect

Police are hunting a suspect after a man in his 30s was seriously stabbed in Swindon town centre this afternoon.

Serious Facial Injury on Temple Street

At around 1:45pm, emergency services were called following a stabbing on Temple Street. The victim suffered a serious facial injury and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

A police cordon was quickly set up for investigations but has now been lifted.

Suspect and Victim Known to Each Other

Detective Sergeant Sarah Munday of Swindon CID confirmed this is an isolated incident. She revealed the suspect and victim are believed to be known to each other.

“We appreciate the concern this has caused in the community. Please be reassured this appears to be an isolated incident involving people who know each other,” said DS Munday.

“We are actively working to locate and arrest the suspect.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Wiltshire Police are urging anyone who saw the stabbing or has information to come forward. DS Munday said there were several people nearby who might have witnessed the incident.

Witnesses should contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting log 186 of February 28. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
