A woman in her 30s has died following a dramatic emergency services rush at Margate’s Cliftonville seafront on Sunday, January 19. Around 3:20pm, multiple police cars, fire engines, ambulances, and an air ambulance swarmed the area near the Queen’s Court flats and The Albion Rooms on Eastern Esplanade.
Air Ambulance Touches Down As Rescue Efforts Intensify
The air ambulance landed by The Oval Bandstand and Lawns shortly after 4pm, as emergency crews battled to save the woman’s life. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The air ambulance left just after 5:15pm.
“Kent Police was called following a report of concern for a person near to Eastern Esplanade in Margate at around 3:20 pm on Sunday, January 19. Officers attended the scene with other emergency services where a woman in her 30s was pronounced deceased. The woman’s next of kin has been informed,” confirmed a police spokesperson.
No Suspicious Circumstances, Coroner to Investigate
Police say the death is not suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner to determine the exact cause.
