Woman Jailed for Over 15 Years in Manslaughter of Steven Davies

A 35-year-old woman has been locked up for 15 years and six months after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of Steven Davies. Carrie McGuinness, from Ynys Close, Rhydyfelin, admitted diminished responsibility at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday.

Tragic Death Stirred Neighbour’s Concern

Steven, 39, was found dead after a neighbour called South Wales Police on June 15 last year, worried about his welfare. Officers quickly attended the address and discovered his body.

Police Offer Condolences to Grieving Family

“This has been a very long and sad investigation for the Davies family,” said Detective Inspector Lianne Rees of the South Wales Police Major Crime Unit. “My heartfelt condolences are with them.”

“While I understand that today’s decision will not bring Steven back, I hope it will provide some closure and allow them to move on with their lives.”
