Woman Assaulted in Eastbourne Night Attack
Police are hunting for witnesses after a woman was attacked in Eastbourne late on Tuesday, October 25.
Attack Spans Old Town Streets
The victim had just left The Star Inn near Upperton Road between 10.30pm and 11.30pm. She was walking towards the town centre when the assault began, continuing through The Goffs and onto Hartfield Road.
Officers say at least two passersby stopped their cars to help, including a possible taxi driver who may also have been attacked during the incident.
Suspect Arrested But Released on Bail
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He’s now on bail while the investigation continues.
Police Call for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Anyone who saw the assault, or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, is urged to come forward.
