Ecstasy Tragedy on Isle of Wight: Man Dies After Taking ‘Punisher’ Tablet, Two Teens Arrested

A man has died on the Isle of Wight after taking a powerful Ecstasy pill known as the ‘Punisher’. Police and paramedics rushed to a flat in Shanklin early Saturday but CPR failed to save 21-year-old Harley Mason.

Harley Mason Found Unresponsive in Shanklin Flat

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary arrived at Heathfield House on Pomona Road shortly before midday on June 29. Inside the flat, they discovered Harley—also known as Harley Girven—unresponsive. Despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation has been launched and the Isle of Wight coroner has been notified. A Home Office post-mortem is scheduled to find the exact cause of death.

A local neighbour, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “I saw Harley on Friday and he seemed his usual happy self. The first I knew of this was when the police and ambulance turned up. It’s such a waste – I was really good friends with him.”

‘Punisher’ Ecstasy Tablet: Three Times Stronger and Deadly

Police are urgently warning the public about a blue triangular Ecstasy/MDMA pill called ‘Punisher’. This tablet is reportedly three times stronger than typical Ecstasy tablets and extremely dangerous.

The tragic death is a stark reminder of the risks associated with illegal drugs.

Two Teens Arrested in Connection with Drugs

Two teenagers present at the flat when emergency services arrived were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs. They are a 16-year-old girl from East Cowes and a 17-year-old boy from Newport. Both have since been released under investigation.

Police stress these arrests are drug-related but not directly connected to Harley’s death.
