Kent Police Spot Dodgy Van on M20
Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit were on patrol along the M20 on Thursday, 30 March 2023, when they clocked a van they suspected was running a false number plate. The officers tailed the vehicle as it exited at Junction 10 and forced it to pull over on Plumpton Road.
Stolen Van and Dumper Found Inside
Investigations revealed the van had been reported stolen in Orpington. The driver, a 33-year-old from Sevenoaks, was promptly arrested on suspicion of theft. But the haul didn’t end there. Police discovered a dumper inside the van, which had also been reported stolen from a business in West Malling just days earlier on 27 March.
Man Released on Bail as Enquiries Continue
The Sevenoaks man now faces charges related to both thefts. He has been released on police bail while officers continue their investigation.
