Tragic Cycling Death at Boship Roundabout
Daniel Corrick, 43, from Haywards Heath, died after a collision with a car while cycling near Hailsham’s Boship roundabout on January 30. He was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital but sadly passed away on February 2.
Family Heartbroken After Fatal Crash
Dan’s family released a statement, saying: “We are devastated to announce the loss of Dan at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton following a cycling road accident on January 30 at Hailsham.”
They described Dan as a devoted husband to wife Nikki and a loving father to daughters Eloise, 8, and Josephine, 6. “He was a wonderful husband and father, devoted to his family and cherished by friends and colleagues.”
Dan was also a passionate blood donor and NHS organ transplant supporter. The family confirmed that, in line with his wishes, his organs were donated to help save lives. They extended thanks to emergency services and ICU staff for their care.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Sussex Police continue to investigate the crash, which occurred shortly after 10am on Sunday, January 30, at the Boship roundabout near the A271 junction at Horsebridge.
They have urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward. Witnesses can email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Rind.
