Four Addresses Raided in Major Drug Sweep
Police from the Northern Serious and Organised Crime Unit teamed up with local Neighbourhood Policing to raid four homes in and around Basingstoke. The locations hit were:
- Ponds Close, Overton
- Sapley Lane, Overton
- 1 Crescent, Basingstoke
- Bourdillion Gardens, Basingstoke
Man Arrested Amid Class A Drug Supply Probe
A 54-year-old man from Overton was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the supply of Class A drugs. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
Officers seized significant quantities of Class A and Class B drugs, plus cash, during the crackdown.
Top Cop Vows to Hit Drug Dealers Hard
Chief Inspector Matthew Reeves said: “As part of our ongoing fight to tackle drug-related crime in Basingstoke, we have conducted these warrants and arrested a number of people suspected of dealing Class A drugs.
“We want to assure the public that we take drug dealing very seriously, and are aware of the devastating impact it can have on our families and communities.
“Drug dealing is often linked with other types of crime, hidden harm, and violent offending. We will act on intelligence and conduct these proactive responses as often as we can to disrupt drug dealing in our neighbourhoods.”
