Man Arrested After Shocking Dawn Property Break-Ins in South Bristol
A man has been arrested after a terrifying morning spree of property invasions and an attempted sexual assault in south Bristol. Police are now urgently hunting for witnesses.
Multiple Break-Ins Spark Panic
The trouble kicked off early in Hartcliffe with two break-ins between 6:20am and 6:40am. On both occasions, the intruder was disturbed and forced to flee. But police received a chilling report of an attempted sexual assault linked to these incidents.
Third Intruder Sighting on Mowcroft Road
At 9:15am, a third caller spotted a suspicious man in nearby Mowcroft Road. The description matched the earlier suspect, but again he fled when confronted.
Helicopters and House-to-House Searches Launched
Police, backed by the NPAS helicopter, launched a full hunt for the man. Detective Chief Inspector James Francomb said:
“Understandably, these incidents have caused significant distress and upset to the victims. A man was arrested this morning at a bus stop in Bristol city centre in connection with these matters. He is currently in custody awaiting interview. We will make sure they get any help they need.”
Officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries, reviewing CCTV footage and boosting patrols to reassure the community. A heightened police presence will remain throughout the investigation.
