Man Fatally Shot in Sefton Morning Tragedy

Just after 7am on Thursday, March 2, emergency services raced to Carlingford Street in Sefton following reports of a shooting.

Victim Dies at Scene

Police found a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound on arrival. Paramedics from NSW Ambulance battled to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was later identified as Taha Sabbagh.

Man Arrested at Sydney Airport

Strike Force Pemak, led by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, joined forces with Bankstown Police and the South-West Metropolitan Region to probe the killing.

After extensive investigations, a 26-year-old man was arrested around 3.30pm on Sunday at Sydney International Airport. He is now assisting police at Surry Hills Police Station.
