Man Found Dead in North Woodburn Reservoir
A 54-year-old man’s body was found in North Woodburn Reservoir on Monday morning. Police have launched a murder investigation as detectives scramble for answers.
Two Men Arrested in Murder Probe
Officers arrested two men, aged 68 and 32, on suspicion of murder after stopping a silver Toyota C-HR in Newtownabbey shortly before 7am. The vehicle was stopped in Clonmore Garden following reports of suspicious activity in the Derrycoole Way area of Rathcoole around 6am.
Detectives Seek Witnesses
PSNI Detective Chief Inspector Ray Phelan urged anyone who was in Derrycoole Way, Rathcoole, or the Councillors Road and New Line area of Carrickfergus between 2am and 7am on Monday to come forward with information.
“Anyone who witnessed anything during that time is urged to contact detectives,” said Det Ch Insp Phelan.
Post-Mortem Scheduled
A post-mortem examination on the victim, identified as Mr Reynolds, is set for 1pm as police continue their inquiry.
