Police Launch Murder Probe After Forest Road Fire Kills Two Men

Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a deadly blaze tore through a home in East London. Two men, aged 35 and 24, were found dead inside the property on Forest Road, Walthamstow. Officers suspect the fire was deliberately started.

DCI Matt Webb Calls for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb, leading the Met’s Specialist Crime Command investigation, said:

“We believe there may have been an incident outside the address before the fire broke out. I’m urging anyone who saw anything – or has doorbell or dashcam footage – to come forward.”

The men who died have been identified, with families being supported by police.

Police Response and Investigation Underway

  • Police were called at 10.24pm on Sunday, 21 April, after reports of the fire.
  • Firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames.
  • A murder investigation is now underway, though no arrests have been made.

DCI Webb added:

“Two lives have been tragically cut short. We are determined to find those responsible. If you have any information, please get in touch.”
