Sniffer Dog Sniffs Out Suspected Cocaine Dealer in Maidstone!
Police Chase Ends in Pudding Lane Arrest
A suspected cocaine dealer was caught red-handed after a police dog helped track him down in Maidstone. The drama unfolded on Wednesday, 22 January 2020, when a 19-year-old man tried to slip away from uniformed officers and a sniffer dog on the High Street.
He was closely followed and found lurking in Pudding Lane. During a search, officers initially seized two mobile phones, raising suspicions.
Hidden Drugs Found in Underwear
The suspect was arrested at 1.35pm and taken into custody for a detailed search. This uncovered five bags of cocaine cleverly concealed in his underwear.
Chief Inspector Issues Stark Warning
“Anyone who thinks it is ok to walk around with drugs on them needs to think again and ask themselves if it is really worth it?” said Maidstone Chief Inspector Ray Quiller.
“Our passive drugs dogs can detect people who have used illegal substances even if they’re not carrying any. We encourage our officers to use their stop and search powers to crack down on drug supply in Maidstone. These powers also help us tackle related crimes like knife crime.”
Suspect Released Under Investigation
The 19-year-old was later released under investigation as police continue their inquiry.
