Shock in Southampton: Pedestrian Hit and Critically Injured in Morning Crash
Police are hunting for witnesses and trying to ID an elderly woman badly hurt in a serious collision this morning in Southampton.
Crash Details: Ford Focus Hits Pedestrian on Bassett 1 Road
The smash happened just after 7.30am today on Bassett 1 Road. A Ford Focus struck a pedestrian who was quickly rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The road remains closed as emergency services work at the scene.
Who is She? Police Describe Woman’s Clothing to Help ID
The victim is believed to be a white woman in her 80s. Officers described her outfit in a bid to track down her identity and contact her family:
- A three-quarter-length camel-style overcoat with large black buttons and black trim around the collar
- A long grey scarf with tassels
- Loose-fitting blue cotton trousers
