A13 Flyover Shut After Man Hit by Car in Canning Town

The A13 flyover in Canning Town is shut both ways after a man was struck by a car late Tuesday night. Emergency services rushed to the scene just after 11.35pm near Rathbone Street and Newham Way.

Man in 60s Taken to Hospital

Police say the pedestrian, a man in his early 60s, was hit while crossing the A13 eastbound. He was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be serious.

Collision Investigators on Scene, Road Closures in Place

The driver stayed at the scene and is assisting police. Officers on patrol quickly attended the incident. The flyover remains closed as collision investigators carry out their work.

“We were called at 11.35pm to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian,” a police spokesman said. “Road closures are in place.”
