Crash Chaos: A340 Ringway West Shut After Serious Collision
The A340 Ringway West is completely closed in both directions after a nasty crash at the A3010 Churchill Way West. Two vehicles were involved in a rear-end smash, leaving a man trapped inside one of the cars.
Trapped Driver Freed by Firefighters
Fire crews from Basingstoke rushed to the scene at 12.52pm, using cutting gear to free the trapped man. They even had to remove the roof of a blue Vauxhall Vectra to get him out safely.
Second Victim Rushed to Hospital
Another person was taken by ambulance to Basingstoke North Hants Hospital after the crash. Hampshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit said the collision is “serious” and urged drivers to stay clear of the area.
Collision Investigation Underway
