Detectives from the PSNI Lisburn and Castlereagh area are hunting a ruthless gang after a terrifying aggravated burglary on Saturday night, April 6. At around 10.45pm, four masked men armed with a screwdriver busted into a house in the quiet Greenwood Hill neighbourhood, leaving a family shaken.
Woman and four young kids held hostage upstairs
The only occupant was a woman looking after her four young children. The thugs quickly took control, forcing the children upstairs to one bedroom while two raided the home, ripping through belongings.
Jewellery and tablet stolen before getaway
The burglars made off by 11pm, snatching a haul of valuable jewellery and a tablet. The family remains extremely distressed by the ordeal.
Police urge locals to help catch violent gang
Detective Sergeant Cargin stressed the need for community help. “Anybody who saw suspicious activity around Greenwood Hill, please get in touch,” he said. Police want anyone who noticed a white Volkswagen Golf nearby to come forward. Locals are also urged to check their CCTV and doorbell camera footage for clues.
