Off-Duty Police Officer Killed in Writtle Lorry Crash

Tragedy struck on the A414 at Writtle on Thursday afternoon when an off-duty police officer lost their life in a collision with a lorry. The devastating crash happened at around 1:55pm on 18th December 2020.

Officer’s Identity Withheld

Police have not released the name of the officer and are urging the public to respect the privacy of the grieving family and friends during this heartbreaking time.

Crash Closes Key Road

The crash forced the closure of the A414 while officers carried out an investigation. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Police Appeal for Witnesses
