Couple Found Dead in Thornford Home
Dorset Police were called to Gifle View, Thornford, early on Tuesday 28 June 2022 after reports of a woman’s sudden death at 6.03am. But when officers and ambulance crews arrived, they found not one — but two bodies.
The remains of a man and a woman, both in their 70s, were discovered inside the property. Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) have launched a full probe to uncover exactly what happened.
Investigation Underway
The man’s family has been informed, but Dorset Police are still trying to trace the woman’s next of kin. The two knew each other, police confirmed. The coroner has also been notified and a police cordon remains in place as the scene is examined.
MCIT Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour said: “This is a very sad incident. We are doing everything we can to support the man’s family.”
No One Else Involved, Police Say
At this stage, officers do not believe anyone else was involved. However, investigations continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Increased police patrols are in place around Thornford. Residents with concerns or any information are urged to come forward.
