Motorcyclist Dies in Fatal A27 Crash at Lewes
Tragedy struck on the A27 at Lewes early Tuesday morning. A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a lorry.
Crash Details and Arrest
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 7.38am on September 20. The crash happened on the eastbound carriageway between the Beddingham and Southerham roundabouts.
The motorcyclist died instantly at the scene. His family have been informed.
A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving. He has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Sussex Police are urging anyone who saw the collision or the vehicles involved beforehand to come forward.
Motorists with dashcam or CCTV footage that could shed light on the crash are also asked to get in touch.
The road has now reopened, with officers thanking the public for their patience during the emergency response.
