Abbey Wood Assault: Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Police are on the hunt for witnesses after a serious assault at Abbey Wood underground station. The shocking attack happened just after midnight on Friday, December 22.
Victim Intervenes on Moving Train
The victim was travelling on a train between Canary Wharf and Abbey Wood when he spotted a man acting aggressively towards a woman. He bravely stepped in to calm the situation before both men got off at Abbey Wood station.
Suspect Caught, Police Search for More Victims
As the victim left the station, he was assaulted by the same man, who is in his 20s and now in police custody. Detectives believe there may be other victims—potentially a man and woman—who suffered assaults by this individual at nearby Abbey Road station.
