Dog Attack Chaos in Newbury: Man Bitten by Unleashed Rottweiler-Pitbull
Thames Valley Police are hunting witnesses after a shocking dog attack in Newbury. The drama unfolded at around 12.30pm on Monday (10/5) on Stroud Green, when a man in his fifties was out walking his dog.
Unleashed Black Rottweiler-Pitbull Mix Launches Attack
The victim’s stroll turned nasty when an unleashed black Rottweiler-Pitbull mix, collarless and out of control, suddenly grabbed his dog’s harness and started swinging it about. When the man tried to step in, the aggressive dog bit his hand, leaving three painful puncture wounds.
Dog Owner Flees Scene After Verbal Abuse
After the attack, the man confronted the dog’s owner—a white man dressed head-to-toe in black—requesting contact details. But instead of co-operating, the owner got verbally abusive and stormed off without exchanging any information.
Police Appeal for Witnesses: Help Catch This Reckless Dog Owner
The victim received treatment at Newbury Minor Injuries Unit.
“I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who has seen this dog and its owner in the area to please get in touch,” said investigating officer PC Stuart Davis from Newbury police station.
