Balham Murder Probe: Two Arrested After Man Dies Following Brutal Assault
A 67-year-old man has died after a violent attack on Balham High Road that left him with life-threatening injuries. Detectives have made two arrests as they dive deeper into the shocking murder investigation.
Man Dies After Balham Assault
Police were called at around 3:40pm on Sunday, 24 August, following reports of an assault on Balham High Road. The victim, a 67-year-old man, was rushed to hospital but tragically died on Friday, 5 September. His family are receiving support from specialist officers during this difficult time.
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby of the Met’s South-West Specialist Crime team said: “This is an incredibly sad incident where a 67-year-old man has lost his life after being seriously assaulted following a dispute in the street. We are working at pace on what is now a murder investigation.”
Two Suspects Held Over Murder
- A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
- A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
Both remain in custody as police continue questioning. The investigation is ongoing.
