Missing Father and Son Found Safe After Isle of Wight Search

The UK Coastguard launched a major search for two missing people on the Isle of Wight after they disappeared yesterday morning (Saturday 22 April). The pair, a father and son, set off for a day’s fishing in a silver Mazda Bongo campervan but failed to return.

Massive Rescue Effort Scrambles Teams and Helicopters

The 1 and Needles Coastguard Rescue Teams teamed up with the Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Lee-on-Solent and the Cowes RNLI Lifeboat. Hampshire Police joined the inland and coastline hunt, combing the area for any signs of the missing duo.

Officials urged anyone with information to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard immediately.

UPDATE: The Coastguard confirmed the missing father and son have been found safe and well. The search operation has now ended, with Cowes RNLI lifeboat and Rescue Helicopter 175 returning to base.
