Bomb scare sparks chaos at Leeds hospital – man in custody
Suspicious package triggers partial evacuation
Emergency services scrambled to St James’ Hospital in Leeds after a suspicious package was found outside the Gledhow Wing early this morning. The area, which mainly houses maternity services including the delivery suite, was quickly cordoned off.
Public told to steer clear
Authorities urged the public to avoid the Gledhow Wing entrance while army bomb experts assessed the situation. “A cordon has been put in place as a precautionary measure for public safety,” said officials. Several people nearby were evacuated to keep them safe.
Counter-terror police make arrest
Counter-terrorism police arrested a 27-year-old Leeds man in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing as experts work to ensure no further threat.
