Cyclist in Skull Fracture Horror Clash with Taxi in Portsmouth
Police are hunting witnesses after a cyclist suffered a fractured skull in a crash with a taxi in Portsmouth.
Serious Crash at Busy Roundabout
Hampshire Police were called to Cambridge Road at the roundabout junction at 5.15pm on Friday, April 27. A blue Skoda Octavia taxi and a 68-year-old male cyclist from Portsmouth collided in the bustling area.
Cyclist Critical, Taxi Driver Unhurt
The cyclist was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital with a fractured skull. The taxi driver escaped without injury.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
PC Andy Daw, from the Joint Roads Policing Unit, said: “This was a busy time of day, so we want to hear from anyone who saw what happened.”
“The cyclist was travelling from St George’s Road towards Museum Road, while the taxi was on Cambridge Road. If you saw either before the collision, please get in touch.”
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone with dash cam footage.”
