Police are hunting for witnesses after a nasty smash between a car and a cyclist in the New Forest just after noon on Friday, December 2. The crash happened at Ipley Crossroads, Beaulieu Road, Hythe involving a silver Vauxhall Zafira and a 36-year-old male cyclist.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries and is currently being treated at southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital. Officers are desperate to hear from anyone nearby who saw the collision or the moments leading up to it.
Key Witness Drives Dark Estate Car
PC Alexander Tack said: “We want to speak to everyone who was in the area that afternoon. We’re especially keen to track down a woman driving a dark-coloured estate car. She was travelling from the Applemore roundabout towards Ipley Cross and stopped to help at the scene.”
Man Arrested, Police Urge Public to Come Forward
- A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crash and is currently on bail until March 1, 2017.
