Teen’s Body Found in Barking Waterway – Police Launch Urgent Appeal
The body of 15-year-old Azoulas Zygelis was discovered on Wednesday, 3 November around 12:20pm in a waterway near Stebbing Way, Barking. He had been reported missing two days earlier, on Monday, 1 November.
Last Seen Meeting Friends in Barking Park
Azoulas was last spotted around 5pm on Monday in Felton Road, Barking. Reports say he then headed to Newlands Park to meet friends briefly. He left the park via the Roxwell Road exit at about 6pm – and vanished after that.
Police Hunt for Vital CCTV and Dashcam Footage
Detective Constable Lisa Jones of the East Area Command Unit made a heartfelt plea:
“If you live along the route from Felton Road to Newlands Park, please check your doorbell cameras for any footage of Azoulas on that afternoon and evening. Drivers passing through, take a look at your dashcam recordings too.”
Jones stressed the importance of any footage, no matter how minor, covering Monday evening through to Wednesday, 3 November. “The area is small, but crucial clues could be hidden in those recordings.”
Cause of Death Unclear – Investigations Ongoing
A post-mortem at Queens Hospital, Romford, on Thursday, 4 November has so far been inconclusive. More tests are underway. Meanwhile, Azoulas’s family is being supported by specialist officers as detectives dig deeper into this mysterious case.
