Woman Punched in Shocking Unprovoked Attack on Queenstown Road
A woman was brutally punched in the face while walking along Queenstown Road, SW8, at around 6.20pm on 24 June 2022. She felt a sudden hard thud on her right side, then looked up to make eye contact with her attacker – who immediately struck her again, leaving her bleeding and injured.
Bystanders Rush to Her Aid as Attacker Lingers
Two cyclists quickly came to the victim’s rescue. The attacker tried to approach her again but was held back by members of the public. Despite this, he hung around the area before finally strolling off towards Prince Wales Drive.
Police Hunt ‘Medium Build, 20s’ Man Caught on Camera
- The suspect is described as Black, around 5ft 8in tall and of medium build, in his 20s.
- Crowd members captured photos and videos of him loitering near the scene post-attack.
Detectives have now released these images to track him down and question him about the assault.
Detective Pleads for Public’s Help
“This was a violent, unprovoked attack on the victim, which left her shocked and in considerable pain. I’d like to thank those who rushed to her aid,” said Detective Constable Cameron Barclay from South West CID. “We want to speak to the man in the photos. If it’s you, or if you recognise him, please get in touch immediately.”
