Woman Attacked in Broad Daylight on Tunbridge Wells Street

Detectives are hunting a suspect after a woman in her forties was assaulted on Major York’s Road, Tunbridge Wells, at 7.35pm on Saturday, 16 October.

Victim Assaulted While Talking on Phone

The victim was walking alone from Sainsbury’s towards the A264, Langton Road, chatting on the phone when a man approached and attacked her. She screamed for help, attracting passersby who rushed to her aid. An ambulance was called, and she was treated at a local hospital before being discharged.

Suspect Description and Police Appeal

The attacker is described as a man in his twenties wearing a dark blue baseball cap and tracksuit. Detective Sergeant Richard Crowhurst said:

“We are making numerous enquiries to piece together the events leading to this assault. We urge motorists in the area to check dashcam footage and anyone who witnessed the attack to come forward.”
