Woman Attacked While Walking Alone in Tunbridge Wells

Detectives are hunting for a man after a woman in her forties was assaulted in broad daylight in Tunbridge Wells.

Horror on Major York’s Road

The attack happened at 7.35pm on Saturday, 16 October 2021. The victim had just left Sainsbury’s and was walking towards the A264, Langton Road, while chatting on the phone.

A man in his twenties, wearing a dark blue baseball cap and tracksuit, reportedly approached her and launched the attack. She screamed for help, and passers-by rushed to her aid before an ambulance arrived.

Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, treated, and has since been discharged. Now, officers want anyone who was in the area to check dashcam footage or any mobile videos that might shed light on the incident.

“We are piecing together the events leading up to the assault,” said Detective Sergeant Richard Crowhurst. “If you were nearby that evening, please come forward.”
