18-Year-Old Targeted in Avonley Road Attack

Police rushed to Avonley Road, SE14, just after midnight on Wednesday, 22 August following reports of a stabbing. An 18-year-old man was found injured and taken to a south London hospital. Thankfully, his wounds are not life-threatening.

No Arrests Yet as Hunt for Attackers Continues

Detectives from Lewisham CID believe the victim was assaulted by three males who fled on foot towards New Cross Road. So far, no arrests have been made.

Detective Chief Inspector Lesley said: “At this early stage we believe the victim was attacked by three males who made off on foot towards New Cross Road. We understand there were many people in the area at the time and I am confident there are witnesses.”

She urged: “I urge those witnesses to come forward. Any information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence.”
