Newborn Baby George Found Abandoned in Kings Norton

Miracle Rescue on The Mounds

A baby boy, no more than hours old, was discovered wrapped in a blanket on The Mounds, off Shannon Road in Kings Norton, just before 6pm last Thursday. A passing dog walker found the tiny tot dressed in grey leggings and an orange-and-white dinosaur-striped t-shirt. The hospital staff caring for him have lovingly named him George – found the day before St. George’s Day.

Police Plead for Mother’s Whereabouts

West Midlands Police confirmed Baby George is healthy and safe. But his mother remains missing, sparking serious concern for her welfare. A spokesperson said, “We’re very worried about her physical and mental health. Giving birth is a huge event, and she may need urgent medical help.”

“George’s mum is our top priority now. We don’t know her story, but becoming a parent can be overwhelming. We want to offer her support and ensure she’s okay. She is not in trouble.” – Detective Inspector Neil Hunt
