Woman Attacked and Robbed Near Wateringbury Station

A woman was cornered and assaulted near Wateringbury train station late on Tuesday night, March 28, 2023.

Shocking Attack on Bow Road

The victim was walking along Tonbridge Road towards Wateringbury station at around 10.40pm when a stranger suddenly approached from behind and shoved her to the ground. She screamed and fought back before fleeing the scene.

Suspect Sought Over Attempted Theft

Detective Inspector Steve Smith of maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone CID revealed that the attacker likely tried to steal the woman’s bag during the assault. CCTV footage has been reviewed, and although the released image of the suspect is blurred, police are hopeful someone will recognise him.

“We’re urging anyone who saw a suspicious man in the area to come forward,” DI Smith said. “Residents with private CCTV, doorbell cams, and dashcam drivers should check their footage.”
