Student Flats Hit Twice in One Morning Raid! Two student accommodation blocks in Nottingham’s Arboretum area were broken into on the same chilly December morning. Burglars made off with parcels and a speaker, leaving students rattled and police hunting for answers.

Portland Road Property Raided

At a flat in Portland Road, thieves didn’t just stop at stealing a speaker and parcels—they even rifled through kitchen cupboards, leaving a mess behind. Meanwhile, over in Waverley Street, more parcels were nabbed from another student residence.

Crimes Linked, Police Issue CCTV Appeal

Both break-ins happened between 6.30am and 8.30am on 1 December 2022. Nottinghamshire Police are treating the two incidents as connected and have launched a thorough investigation. Detectives have now released CCTV images of a suspect they want to speak to.

“We would ask that anyone who recognises this man gets in touch with us as we believe he has information that could assist our investigation,” said Detective Constable Ruth Towle.

“Nobody should have to go through the ordeal of having their property burgled, so we’re committed to doing whatever we can to ensure offences of this nature are as rare as possible.”
