Police Hunt Teenage Suspect After Shocking Alleyway Attack in Bristol
Officers are urgently searching for a teenage boy in connection with a disturbing attack on a young woman in Bristol city centre last summer. They also want to speak to two potential witnesses who were in the area at the time and may hold key information.
Victim Separated and Attacked
Detective Constable Toby Hayes described the incident as “a truly awful offence on an innocent young woman.” The victim was out socialising when a boy separated her from her friends and assaulted her in a nearby alleyway.
“We have worked tirelessly on this investigation but have yet to identify the offender,” DC Hayes said. “Because of the nature of the crime and the ages involved, we’ve tried to protect the victim’s privacy. However, we now need the public’s help.”
Images Released to Aid Investigation
Police have released images showing a young man dressed all in black, believed to be the suspect. Two other photos show an adult and a young child who may have witnessed the attack.
“The image quality isn’t great, but we hope someone out there recognises these individuals and can help bring justice for the victim,” added DC Hayes.
Support for Victim and How to Help
The victim has been kept fully updated by the police and given access to specialist support. DC Hayes praised her courage throughout the ordeal.
