Tragic Crash Claims Young Huddersfield Man
Tributes are pouring in for Chad Matheson, 21, who died after his car smashed into a wall outside a pub and flipped onto its roof. The horror crash happened just after 9.30pm on 6 July outside The Sovereign pub in Shepley.
Heartbreaking Loss
Chad was behind the wheel of a black Mercedes A180 when the collision occurred. He was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away on Friday. His devastated parents described him as a “person with a heart of gold.”
“He was so loving, caring, and honest, but a little crazy and this made him unique,” his family said. “Our family is devastated at his passing; however, we remain strong, and his memories are keeping us going.”
Police Search for Witnesses
The Mercedes didn’t just crash into the wall – it also hit two cars parked in the pub’s car park. West Yorkshire Police are investigating the tragedy and urge anyone who saw the accident to come forward.
They are keen to get hold of any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to aid their inquiries.
