Police slam down the hammer on nuisance riders in Houghton Regis and Dunstable! A major crackdown has led to a drug driving arrest and five vehicles seized in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour on the streets.
Operation Skytree Takes Flight Against Nuisance Vehicles
More than 25 officers were called in for Operation Skytree, targeting offenders on e-bikes, scooters, and motorbikes terrorising local communities. The force pulled out all the stops, deploying:
- A police drone to spot and track offenders from above
- Off-road motorcycles from the Rural Crime Action Team to chase down culprits in tricky locations
Big Busts and Vehicle Hauls
- One person was nabbed for drug driving and caught with Class B drugs
- Five vehicles were impounded for breaking traffic laws, including a stolen motorcycle involved in a police chase
Police Won’t Back Down
PC Tom Sharp, the man in charge, sent a warning to offenders:
“We understand this behaviour worries local people. Rest assured, we are taking a tough stance against it.”
“Operation Skytree is not a one-off. We are committed to making Houghton Regis and Dunstable safer with ongoing action.”
The police are urging residents to come forward with any info on illegal vehicle use and anti-social antics. This relentless campaign aims to put an end to the chaos and bring peace back to the streets.
