Gardaí have landed a massive blow against organised crime with a €500,000 drug bust in Limerick city.
Car Stop Leads to Major Discovery
Officers from the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit, backed by regional squads, pulled over a vehicle in the Galvone area on Wednesday. A quick search of the car unveiled cannabis worth €30,000.
Follow-Up Search Reveals More Drugs and Ammo
The follow-up raid at a nearby property turned up an astonishing stash:
- €350,000 in cannabis
- €150,000 in cocaine
- Nearly €30,000 cash
- Close to 200 rounds of firearms ammunition
- Extensive drug paraphernalia
Three Men Arrested & Held Under Drug Legislation
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Three men, two in their 40s and one in his 30s, have been arrested in connection with these seizures.”
The suspects are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The Garda investigation is ongoing, with officials calling the operation a major strike against organised crime in the region.
