Drug Lab Dug Up in Great Horton! Man Arrested After Chemical Find
Police swooped on a property in Westcroft Road, Great Horton, following a disturbance call at 4.34pm yesterday. What they uncovered shocked the neighbourhood—chemicals and clear signs of Class A drug production.
Man Held on Suspicion of Class A Drug Production
Officers arrested a man at the scene, now held on suspicion of manufacturing Class A drugs. A safety cordon went up immediately as specialist police teams and hazardous material experts moved in to assess the danger.
Neighbours Evacuated, But Risk Contained to One Address
Initially, some nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. However, authorities later confirmed the chemicals posed no threat beyond the property where they were found, allowing others to return.
Safe Disposal and Forensic Probe Underway
Over the next few days, a controlled operation will remove and safely dispose of the toxic substances. Forensic teams will comb through the property to gather evidence for the ongoing criminal investigation.
“We recognise the inconvenience caused to residents on the street and appreciate their patience,” police said.
