Crash Chaos in Brading: Two Vehicles Collide Near Fish and Chip Shop
Emergency teams rushed to Brading High Street just after 8.30pm on Tuesday following a two-car crash outside the local fish and chip shop.
Road Closed After Collision
Police shut the road as crews worked at the scene. Initially, it was feared one car was leaking fuel, prompting the Isle of Wight Fire Service to jump into action.
Firefighters on Standby After Fuel Leak Scare
A crew from Newport, who had been training nearby on Nicholson Road, were quickly dispatched to ensure the site was safe. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, and no one was trapped inside the vehicles.
Recovery Teams Tackle Damaged Cars
The wrecked cars, deemed undriveable, are now being cleared by Stag Lane Recovery. A Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said:
“We received a call from the police about a fuel leak, which posed a risk. Our Newport team is currently managing scene safety. No individuals are trapped in the vehicles.”
The swift response avoided a potential disaster in Brading tonight.
