Essex Police have launched an urgent investigation after a woman reported a serious sexual assault near The Bottle Kiln Wetherspoons in Harwich at around 6am on 6 August.

The victim is being supported by specialised officers as she faces this traumatic ordeal. A cordon has been set up at an alleyway linking Kings Way to Empire Road. Officers will remain on site all day, hunting for clues.
