Tragic crash claims young father’s life in Aylesham
The family of 18-year-old Arry Petch have paid a heartfelt tribute after he died in a serious collision in Aylesham on the early hours of Sunday, 29 July 2018.
Loving dad lost in horror crash
Arry was a devoted father, boyfriend, son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. The crash happened around 2.50am on Holt Street as a black Mercedes Benz, carrying three people, smashed into a wall while travelling from Nonington towards Snowdown.
Arry’s mother Dionne said: “We are shocked and heartbroken by the news. We appreciate the messages of support, but please give us time and privacy to grieve. Arry was well-loved by everyone and touched many lives. He loved life and was a great dad to his daughter.”
Outdoor lover with his whole life ahead
Arry grew up in Elvington and attended Sandwich Secondary School. At the time of the crash, he worked as a labourer. He enjoyed the outdoors — fishing, ferreting, camping and motocross all featured in his passions.
“His life was taken far too suddenly in such a cruel way,” said his family. “We have so many memories with Arry that we will cherish forever.”
Investigation underway, community appeal
A 41-year-old man suffered serious injuries and a 22-year-old man minor injuries. Both, from the Dover area, were arrested then released pending further inquiries.
