Heroic Rescue in St Leonards: Man Saved from Height in Warrior Square

Emergency crews sprung into action on Wednesday morning after a distress call about a person trapped at height in Warrior Square, St Leonards. The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) led the charge, joined by Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).

Firefighters Use Ladder and Rope to Reach Casualty

An ESFRS spokesperson revealed, “At 8:48 AM on July 17, we were called to reports of a rescue from height in Warrior Square. Teams from Bohemia Road Hastings, The Ridge Hastings, Battle, and Bexhill quickly mobilised, deploying the aerial ladder platform and rope rescue unit to assist.

“The casualty was safely brought down and handed over to ambulance crews for treatment,” they added.

Police and Air Ambulance Also On Scene

Alongside firefighters, Sussex Police coordinated scene safety while paramedics and the air ambulance provided urgent medical support. Their swift teamwork was key to the operation’s success.

Health and Safety Executive Launches Investigation

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been notified to probe the circumstances around the incident, ensuring that any risks are thoroughly examined.
