Man Fighting for Life After Brutal Early Morning Brawl in Southampton
Police are hunting witnesses following a vicious assault that left a 20-year-old man in critical condition in Southampton at 4am on Saturday, December 17.
Skull Fractured Outside Busy Arcade
The violent clash happened outside the Golden Touch amusement arcade and Nationwide bank on Above Bar Street. Three men were strolling through the area when they collided with a gang of five. While two of the trio suffered minor injuries, the third was left with a fractured skull and remains in a life-threatening state at Southampton General Hospital.
Two Arrested, Three Still at Large
Southampton police have detained two men from the group of five—aged 20 and 22—both locals. They have been bailed until March 15, 2017. Detectives are still tracking down the remaining three suspects.
Police Seek Key Witness in Leather Jacket
Detective Constable Martin Timmis from Southampton CID urged the public to come forward. “We want to identify a man who entered the Golden Touch arcade around the time of the attack. He might have seen crucial details.”
