Chaos Erupts in Croydon

Police flooded Church Street, Croydon, after getting several calls at 5.25pm on Monday, 20 March. Reports described a large group of youths locked in a violent fight. The street scene quickly turned grim.

Two Teens Stabbed, Taken to Hospital

Amid the chaos, two teenage boys were stabbed. They suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital. Their current condition remains unknown as medics continue assessments.

Witness Describes Terrifying Moment

“I saw the fight on Church Street,” said an anonymous witness. “After one boy was stabbed, he fell to the floor. I heard screams and someone shouting ‘he’s been stabbed, he’s been stabbed.’”

“Near the pub, a couple of boys appeared with an orange shovel and a big stick, shouting. The fight spilled into nearby side streets.”

“Friends of the stabbed boy came out to check on him. It was so sad. I just hope both injured boys are okay.”

“It made me sad that they had to stab each other. I was just talking nearby when I saw it happen. As a mother, his screams hit me hard. I’d hate for it to be my child.”

Heavy Police Presence and Investigation Underway

A large crime scene remains in place while officers comb the area for evidence. At least one youth has been arrested in connection with the stabbing.

To clamp down on further violence, police have invoked a Section 60 Order. This gives officers expanded stop and search powers from 7.15pm Monday until 6am Tuesday.

Croydon residents have been left shaken by the violent attack, hoping the wounded recover swiftly and peace returns to Church Street.
