Two Men Dead, Teen Seriously Hurt in Portsdown Hill Crash
Tragedy struck near Portsdown Hill on Monday evening when two men from Gosport and Fareham died in a horrific car crash. A 13-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Fatal Collision on James Callaghan Drive
At around 7:10pm, emergency services were called to the scene on James Callaghan Drive. A black Peugeot and a grey Renault Megane had collided violently.
Both drivers died at the scene. The Renault was driven by a 48-year-old man from Gosport, and the Peugeot’s driver was a 44-year-old man from Fareham.
Boy Airlifted to Southampton General
A 13-year-old passenger in the Renault was seriously injured and taken to Southampton General Hospital. His condition is currently critical.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, both drivers died at the scene,” said Hampshire Constabulary. “Their next of kin have been informed, and specialist officers are supporting them.”
Sergeant Spencer Wragg added: “We are investigating the exact circumstances of the crash. Anyone who was in the area at the time is urged to come forward.”
South Central Ambulance Service paramedics and Cosham Fire Station crews also attended the scene.
