Man Held Over Spate of South London Car Fires
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson on Tuesday, January 10. He remains in custody at a south London police station.
Five Cars Torched in Mysterious Blaze Spree
Detectives from the Met’s Central South Command are probing five separate car fires. These incidents took place between Saturday, December 24, 2022, and Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
It’s still unclear if the fires are linked, but the investigation is ongoing.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We fully appreciate the impact these fires have on the community, not just for safety but the huge inconvenience to vehicle owners,” said Detective Constable Kieran Mulvaney.
“We are working hard to see if this is a connected series and to track down all related incidents. If you have any information and haven’t contacted us yet, please do.”
