A silver Seat Leon smashed into a young boy at around 8 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022. The shocking collision happened right on the pedestrian crossing near the junction of Woodlands Road and Cornwallis Avenue.
Child Airlifted to Hospital in Critical Condition
The injured boy was rushed to a hospital by air ambulance. His condition remains critical as doctors battle to save him.
Man Arrested as Police Launch Serious Collision Investigation
A 40-year-old man from Chatham was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody. Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is probing the incident.
The unit is urgently seeking witnesses and anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
