A shocking incident at Asda’s Imperial Retail Park saw an octogenarian knocked from an escalator by a rogue trolley.
Elderly Man Hurt in Escalator Chaos
On the evening of Friday 24 February 2023, between 6.20pm and 6.35pm, an 80-something man was heading up an escalator when an empty shopping trolley was pushed from the top. The trolley hit him hard, sending him crashing down to the ground floor.
The victim suffered head injuries and cuts on his hands. He later visited hospital as a precaution.
Teen Arrests After Assault
Kent Police launched an urgent appeal for information. Just weeks later, on Tuesday 21 March, four boys aged 12 and 13 were arrested and taken into custody in connection with the incident.
